I. Repasito
Conjugate the following verbs for the pronouns provided. Ej. Yo/hablar: Yo hablo
II. Review packet
Please take out your review packets from yesterday. We will go over them as a class.
III. Práctica con conjugaciones
To practice regular verb conjugation, you will do some activities in groups. The first activity is a version of Battleship.
Each of you will receive a paper with two grids on it. The top of the grid has a list of verbs, and the left side of the grid has different nouns and pronouns.
In the top grid, you will place five different ships: one that is 5 spaces, one that is 4 spaces, two that are 3 spaces each, and one that is 2 spaces.
When you have placed your ships, turn to a partner. You are going to take turns trying to guess where the other's ships are located. In order to guess a grid location, you must say a pronoun and a conjugated verb (ex. Yo hablo).
If the guess is correct, the other player says "hit." The player guessing should mark the hit on their smaller grid. If one of your ships is sunk, you must tell your partner.
If the guess is wrong, the other player says "miss." After the first player guesses a grid, the other player has a turn.
The first player to sink all five ships wins.
Verb Conjugation Relay:
For this activity, you will work in groups of 2 or 3. Each group will receive a small whiteboard and a marker. Only one person may write at a time.
I will call out the infinitive of a verb.
The first player will conjugate the verb in the yo form and pass the marker to the next player.
The second player will conjugate the verb in the tú form. The next player conjugates the verb in the él/ella/usted form, and so on.
If there is a mistake, a player may use his/her turn to correct it instead of writing the next conjugation, but you may only correct one error per turn.
We will do five rounds of this activity. The team with the most points at the end wins.
IV. Los sustantivos y los artículos
We will review nouns and articles in Spanish. All nouns in Spanish have a gender, either masculine or feminine. For living beings, the gender often depends on whether the being is male or female. Inanimate objects never change gender.
V. Concordancia de Adjetivos
Like nouns, adjectives can also be masculine or feminine. They have to have the same type of ending as the noun. This is called adjective agreement.
We will go over both sides of the hand-out tomorrow. Please finish them tonight if you don't finish them in class.
Homework: Complete hand-out on nouns, articles, and adjectives.

In the top grid, you will place five different ships: one that is 5 spaces, one that is 4 spaces, two that are 3 spaces each, and one that is 2 spaces.
- To place a ship, you will write the conjugated form of the verb where it intersects with a noun/pronoun. For example, if you choose a square that connects "yo" with "comer," you write "como" in the space.
When you have placed your ships, turn to a partner. You are going to take turns trying to guess where the other's ships are located. In order to guess a grid location, you must say a pronoun and a conjugated verb (ex. Yo hablo).

- The first team to have all of the correct conjugations gets the most points (this number depends on the total number of teams.) If there are seven teams, the first team finished gets seven points. The next team would get 6 points, and so on.
We will do five rounds of this activity. The team with the most points at the end wins.
