The following list of words and phrases indicate specific time frames and signal the use of the preterite. Copy down these definitions on the preterite hand out I will give you or in a document in Google Drive. You can also use WordReference:

On the other side of the handout, there are sentences written in the past tense in English. You will write them in Spanish using the preterite. Do NOT use Google Translate.
Look up the verbs in the dictionary or on WordReference.com. Remember: when you look up verbs in the dictionary, make sure you are looking up the infinitive and not the conjugated verb (ex. "lose" instead of "lost"). If you type in the verbs exactly as they appear on your worksheet, you won't find any results.
*The sentences that have stars next to them use reflexive verb in Spanish. The steps below explain how to conjugate them, but don't worry if you can't figure it out. Just focus on the other verbs.
The pronouns are:
me (yo) nos (nosotros)
te (tú) os (vosotros)
se (él, ella, usted) se (ellos, ellas, ustedes)
You'll have the rest of class to work on this. You may either write your answers on the paper or in a document on Google Drive.
Reminder:
- Ayer: yesterday
- Anteayer: the day before yesterday
- Anoche: last night
- Anteanoche: the night before last
- Durante dos siglos: for two centuries

- A reflexive verb in the infinitive ends in -se (ex. dormirse).
- Ignore the -se and conjugate it like a normal verb (ex. yo dormí)
- Then, put a pronoun in front of the verb (ex. yo me dormí).
The pronouns are:
me (yo) nos (nosotros)
te (tú) os (vosotros)
se (él, ella, usted) se (ellos, ellas, ustedes)
