Today, we are going to review subject pronouns, regular --ar verbs, and how regular verbs are conjugated in Spanish. Verb conjugation can be very simple, but it requires a lot of memorization. The following links give you directions for conjugating the three types of regular verbs. If you are absent, be sure to click the links and take notes.

1)Subject Pronouns
The subject of a verb is whoever does the action in a sentence of whoever is being described.
A subject pronoun replaces a subject noun.
In Spanish, there are 10 subject pronouns. Copy the chart below and include the English definitions of the Spanish subject pronouns:

- ¿Qué clases tomas? (tomar = "to take")
- ¿Trabajas? (If a question starts with a verb or is only a verb, then it is a yes or no question)

- You use them to refer to only one person.
- You use them to refer to two or more people.
- You use them to talk about yourself/ yourself and other people.
- You use them to talk directly to other people.
- Tú and Vosotros are informal (Vosotros is only in Spain)
- Usted and Ustedes are formal (Ustedes is informal in Latin America)
- You use them to talk about someone else.
When conjugating a verb, first you remove the infinitive ending. Then, you add the correct ending that goes with the subject pronoun.
- Copy the following conjugation of the verb trabajar ("to work") and copy the sentences below.

I will introduce you to the website Conjuguemos today. We will use it throughout the semester to practice grammar, vocabulary, and verb conjugations.

IV. Spanish I Review Project
Continue working on your project. The review sheets are due today if you want me to check over them, and they are due for a grade tomorrow. Projects must be done when you come to class on Wednesday.
Reminders:
I will introduce you to the website Conjuguemos today. We will use it throughout the semester to practice grammar, vocabulary, and verb conjugations.
- Your username is your first and last name.
- If you told me you prefer to go by a different name, I used that for your username.
- Your password is your NC Wise number
- Go to Conjuguemos
- Log in with the orange "Student Log In" button on the right.
- Once you have logged in, you will be in the "Student Zone"
- Under "Practice Activities," find the activity called "PRESENT TENSE: regular -ar verbs" and click it.
- At the top of the page, check "Don't time me," and click the green Start button.
- Conjugate the verbs according to the subject pronoun given.
- Conjugate at least 50 verbs with 90% accuracy or better.
- When you finish, click "Record/Send Results" to the right of the blue score box. If you don't do this, you can't get a grade for this.
