The title of the reading is "La comida de los atletas." Based on the title, what do you think is the focus of the article? Pre-reading: Look at the pictures in the article. On a piece of paper, predict 3 types of foods athletes eat according to the article. Look at the pie chart and write what you think it is showing. Reading: First, skim each section under the pictures of the foods to see what foods an athlete typically eats. Then, read the article to yourself while I read it out loud. Read the article once more on your own. Note any unfamiliar words that you can look up later. After reading: Answer the ¿Comprendes? questions in complete sentences. In English, write a 5-sentences summary of what you learned from the article.
