III. Estar

Título: El verbo estar.
Estar means to be.
We use the verb estar to say where people or things are located.
Copy down the conjugations:
You will create a foldable to help you remember the conjugations of Estar.
It is mostly like AR verbs we have learned, but it has accents.
Práctica:
First, we will do Kahoot to practice the forms of Estar.
Use your notes to help you choose the correct answer.

You will write 5 of your own sentences like the sentences in the activity. Someone else will read your sentence and write where the person probably is.

Today we will do a reading as a class. It is about different types of small meals or snacks in Mexico.
I will hand out computers to groups of 2 or 3.
Bring up the reading by going to this link: First, you will create a chart like the one on page 138 and fill in typical snack foods in the US. You will complete the rest after you read it on your own.
Then, we will read through the questions together and talk about what they mean in English.
Then, we will read through the article and translate the sentences together.
Afterwards, you will complete the chart, and answer the questions on page 139 in Spanish and in complete sentences.
The answers are due at the end of class.
VI. Online practice
For the last part of class, you will do online practice with the verb ir and with telling time.
